Supervision and enforcement

Good education is essential for a future-proof society. That is why education has several supervisory bodies that test this quality, such as the Education Inspectorate and municipalities. This may, for example, involve an investigation into the quality of education, supervision of examinations, a student's compulsory education, but also investigations into funding, accreditation(s), issuing diplomas, safety at school or handling a complaint or dispute.

Inspection

The municipalities monitor compulsory education and, if necessary, take action towards the parents/legal representatives of the pupils/students. The Education Inspectorate assesses the quality of education at schools and other educational institutions. The Inspectorate assesses whether schools and study programmes comply with the laws and regulations and whether their finances are in order. This can be legally challenging.

Sanctions

Supervisory bodies will take enforcement action where necessary, which may lead to sanctions. An adequate legal response may therefore be necessary in the supervisory body's assessment. The experts at Kienhuis Legal have extensive experience in this field and can help you with this.

What we do

We believe it is important to achieve a sustainable solution and think strategically about solutions. If legal proceedings are unavoidable, we will of course assist you in this. We do this at different stages of the process with the supervisory body. This may involve an administrative preliminary consultation, hearing, drawing up or advising on an opinion, the adoption of the (fine) report or any subsequent administrative sanctions.

If you are looking for legal help in the field of supervision and enforcement, then Kienhuis Legal is the right place for you. Within a multi-disciplinary team of education and administrative law, we work to find the right solution for you.
