“Two firms. One shared way of working”

Law + notarial services

Where clients previously needed multiple parties, a single integrated practice now emerges in which legal and notarial services come together. From real estate transactions and corporate structures to area developments and acquisitions: clients benefit from short lines of communication, direct alignment and specialists who reinforce each other.

Strategic + decisive

Complex issues are increasingly crossing the boundaries of a single specialism or area of law. That is why Bosselaar Strengers and Kienhuis Legal bring specialist knowledge, short lines of communication and multidisciplinary collaboration together in one firm. This allows clients to switch more quickly between disciplines, with specialists who work together both substantively and practically around a single issue.

Progressive + reliable

Technology, AI and digitalisation are changing organisations and the legal challenges that come with them. That is why we continuously invest in knowledge development, innovation and specialist expertise. Through professorships, partnerships with universities and deep knowledge of new technology, we help clients move forward on the challenges of tomorrow. Always with the same down-to-earth mentality and personal commitment our clients have come to expect from us.

National + International

With offices in Enschede and Utrecht, we combine regional engagement with a strong national and international practice. From businesses and institutions in the region to internationally operating organisations: we connect local involvement with broad legal expertise.

Animated World Map

“Regionally engaged. Internationally connected”

Legal precision + entrepreneurial mindset

We combine legal precision with an entrepreneurial mindset. Strategic when necessary. Decisive when it matters. We don't just advise based on laws and regulations; we actively think along with you about growth, continuity, development, and complex decision-making. In doing so, we don't just help clients advance legally, but also organizationally and entrepreneurially.

Leading + personal

With high-end legal expertise, but without a detached approach. Large scale when necessary. Personal where it counts.

Full-service really does mean the complete picture

As one firm, we have deep knowledge across a wide range of legal disciplines.

Procurement and competition

From complex procurement procedures to competition issues and public-private partnerships. We guide businesses, government bodies and institutions through legal processes where regulation, strategy and societal interests converge.

Employment en organisation

The labour market is changing faster than ever. We support organisations on employment law issues, reorganisations, employee participation, governance and strategic HR matters. Practical where possible, legally sharp where necessary.

Family and wealth

Entrepreneurship and private wealth are often closely intertwined. We advise entrepreneurs, 4 families and high-net-worth individuals on estate planning, business succession, family law and wealth structures, with attention to both the legal and personal dimensions.

Businesses

Running a business requires legal partners who understand how organisations work and grow. We advise companies on governance, partnerships, transactions, restructurings, commercial contracts and complex corporate matters.

Technology and innovation

AI, digitalisation and data-driven working bring new legal challenges. We help organisations move forward on topics such as AI regulation, IT contracts, privacy, intellectual property and technological innovation.

Notarial services

Our integrated notarial practice forms an essential part of our firm. From real estate transactions and corporate structures to mergers, acquisitions and estate planning: we combine legal and notarial expertise within one team and one approach.

Real estate and environment

Spatial development requires specialist knowledge and administrative insight. We guide developers, investors, government bodies and institutions on real estate transactions, area development, construction law, tenancy law and environmental law matters.

Healthcare and education

The healthcare and education sectors are continuously under pressure from changing legislation and regulation, societal developments and organisational challenges. We support institutions with specialist knowledge in the areas of governance, employment law, procurement, real estate and public law.

The + of knowledge sharing

New legislation. AI. The labour market. Area development. Energy transition. The legal landscape is constantly changing.

That is why we regularly organise webinars, round tables and knowledge sessions in which we share insights, analyse current developments and look ahead to what organisations will need tomorrow.

Frequently asked questions

A collaboration like this naturally raises questions. About what will change, what will stay the same and what clients can expect from the combination of Bosselaar Strengers and Kienhuis Legal. That is why we answer the most frequently asked questions about our collaboration, our way of working and our shared future below. Is your question not listed? Our specialists are happy to speak with you personally.

Why are Kienhuis Legal and Bosselaar Strengers joining forces?

Bosselaar Strengers and Kienhuis Legal share the same vision of legal services: specialist, personal and entrepreneurial. Both firms believe that clients increasingly need legal partners who not only offer deep expertise, but who can also think along holistically on complex matters. By joining forces, a firm emerges in which specialist knowledge, legal practice, notarial services and multidisciplinary collaboration come together. This allows us to support businesses, government bodies and institutions even better on the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Why did Kienhuis Legal and Bosselaar Strengers choose each other specifically?

From the very first conversations, it was clear that both firms complement each other not only in terms of content, but also culturally. Kienhuis Legal and Bosselaar Strengers share the same DNA: high-quality legal services combined with a down-to-earth, personal and entrepreneurial way of working.

Bosselaar Strengers brings 75 years of knowledge, experience and a strong position in Utrecht. Kienhuis Legal adds a broad full-service practice, integrated notarial services and strong multidisciplinary teams to that. It is precisely this substantive strengthening that makes this collaboration valuable for clients.

What does the merger mean for clients of Bosselaar Strengers?

For clients of Bosselaar Strengers, the collaboration means access to a broader legal practice with additional specialist expertise and integrated notarial services. Where Bosselaar Strengers is already strongly represented in areas including administrative law, real estate and environmental law, Kienhuis Legal adds complementary expertise in areas such as employment law, corporate law, procurement law, technology and international matters. This allows clients to switch more quickly and bring more disciplines under one roof.

What does the collaboration mean for clients of Kienhuis Legal?

For clients of Kienhuis Legal, the collaboration means a further strengthening of specialist knowledge in the areas of administrative law, real estate, environmental law and public affairs. In addition, it creates direct access to additional expertise, larger multidisciplinary teams and a stronger national and international practice. In this way, we combine regional engagement with broad legal support.

Is this a takeover?

No. This is explicitly a merger and not a takeover. Both firms join forces from the conviction that they are stronger together than separately. The aim is to build a powerful full-service legal practice that can operate at the level of the larger firms, but with a more personal, accessible and entrepreneurial approach.

Will the Bosselaar Strengers name disappear immediately?

No. A deliberate choice has been made for a gradual and careful transition to the Kienhuis Legal brand. Bosselaar Strengers has built a strong position and recognition in the Utrecht region. That is why the name will remain prominently visible in the first phase, combined with Kienhuis Legal. In this way, we retain the trust and recognition among existing clients and relations. The transition to one joint brand name will happen step by step. We believe it is important that clients, relations and employees can gradually get used to the new combination. Only once the 7 joint brand has been firmly established will the full transition to the name Kienhuis Legal take place.

What changes for me as an existing client?

You will keep your regular points of contact, but gain access to additional specialist expertise when needed. This allows us to respond more quickly on complex matters and bring more disciplines together within one firm.
